I expect so (they won't have it for a few weeks though)... but I know they've got a small thumbnail-ish version of it too - maybe they'll be here at some point in the not-too-distant and post it...

I do kind of agree that if asked without any malice then it's ok, it's like asking 'does he have blue eyes?' after all. I know you don't see it this way but coming from a country where being gay is still considered somewhat taboo, you don't know how happy I am that it can come up casually in conversation over here. Sorry this is *ENTIRELY* OT. I just feel strongly about the issue being gay myself.

Fair enough guys. I have no problems when it comes to people's sexuality. I'm the least homophobic person I know. I just believe that people in the public eye shouldn't have their private lives/sexuality banded about a public forum. Thats all. Ok. If anyone has issues, PM me. Otherwise, here's the shot from Attitude... There's a short interview as well, but I don't have that.

Heres the interview, quite short but its awesome Puppet Love
It's downright silly, strangely moving and still the best show in London. Attitude meets cutesome JON ROBYNS, the man who spends every night with his hand up a gay Republican called Rod
A whole rang of mega musicals opened last year, but without a doubt the one that came galloping through as the essential show of 2006 involved puppets, porn and, um, right wing poofters. As you must by now know, Avenue Q is the story of a bunch of New Yorkers struggling to find their way in the world with all that love, life and overdrawn bank accounts can throw at them. Stuffy theatre critics gave it mixed reviews- which was obviously a signal to us that we'd love it, and love it we did. A lot. And so do you, judging by the dewey eyed audiences, heavily peppered with la gays leaving on cloud nine night after night. They have also just reduced midweek ticket prices so real life young people can afford to go. Meet hot young puppet meister Jon Robyns who gets up and close every night with a gay puppet struggling to come out...
Avenue Q has been hugely popular, especially with the gay audiences since it opened
Fantastic! The gay community supported it so much in New York so to see it happen again in London like this has been wonderful. It is a honour.
Are you enjoying yourself?
Absolutely, the buzz you get off the audience with this show is unlike any other. We've done over 200 performances now and its still amazing fun.
How on earth do you cope with switching all the voices and working with all the characters?
It's difficult. I got the voice wrong one night and tried my best to cover it. We had a week's intensive training before we even worked on the script and my right arm was exhaused, numb but the muscle memory soon kicks in. I think of it as doing a two hour dance every night and you just have to stay focused. Julie (Atherton who plays Kate Monster and Lucy The Slut) has a really hard job because she has to have a conversation between two characters all by herself.
Were you suprised by the mixed reviews?
Absolutely. All we knew was that we were playing packed houses with standing ovations every time. But it's not aimed at the kind of straight laced audiences who love Evita. It's for a cooler, younger generation. That's fine and that's where the word of mouth has kicked in because everyone who sees it loves it and they have obviously told their friends
What do you think is the key to its appeal?
It's a mixture of childish and adult humour with alot of pathos. It starts with some fun songs about life and the issues we face and then gets very heavy and true and suddenly there's this heart that takes people by suprise.
How's puppet sex for you?
The rehearsals were hard! Being given notes about your sexual technique is really damaging to your ego but it was all worth it for the scream that you get every night at the 69 moment (laughs)
Have you enjoyed becoming a bit of a theatrical heartthrob?
Do you think I have? Thanks. Its odd. We get a few people around the stage door, which is fun... They're always suprised I have an English accent. I get a lot of gay Republicians waiting to meet me too (Laughs). It's very flattering!
Is it scary being the first character on?
Yes because I get the first initial "Oh my God, It's puppets" reaction. You sense very quickly whether that night's audience will accept the convention immediately or whether they need some encouragement. Saturday nights are raucous. We've had a couple thrown out for having sex in a box. At the part where we go into the audience to collect money somebody gave me 50 pound and someone gave me a sachet of lube. I have no idea what they were trying to say (laughs)
What's the best thing about the show for you?
The reaction. Comedy is always great but this kind of comedy that touches people doesnt come along too often. I had a letter from a girl who had brought her closeted friend to see it. All his friends had guessed he was gay but he couldn't say. When the Rod being in the closet story started, they turned to each other and nooded and he came out after. It's such a cool thing to be part of that.
