Sadly, after four wonderful musical-packed days in London, I'm back home in Germany.
First time to see the new cast, I was really sceptic whether I would like them or not...
Nearly had a full first cast, except Jacqui on for Mrs T / Bear.
Forced my boyfriend to see Avenue Q for his third time now, first time front row, and we both loved the new cast.
Let's start with the first song, and the reason I wanted to see the show again at all costs: Daniel Boys. Well, since I saw him playing Mark on the Rent-tour in Germany, I fell in love with this charming guy. Jon is really hard to beat, so I would say, they are on a par. Definitely I have a reason to come back to see Q now.
Christopher Fry is a very good Brian, maybe a little too thin, and I kept looking at the microphone-string you can see through his short hair.
Rebecca Lock is absolutely adorable as Kate, wonderfull
facial expressions, beautiful voice. But I'm sorry to say, I really don't like her Lucy. Please work on that voice, it is really annoying.
Mark Goldthorp, well he doesn't need a bad idea bear puppet, he actually looks like one... this man truly can make funny faces. Anyway, I still miss Simons Trekkie !!!
After Naoko and Jennifer I had my third Christmas eve now, Yanle Zhong is so pretty, wonderful voice too.
The front screens didn't work when Lucy came into hospital, I think the back ones did, as the audience laughed. Poor Daniel got hit by the rope from the school sign, he nearly had to laugh then.
Went to the stage door afterwards, they all were gone very fast, only managed to get autographs from the lovely Delroy Atkinson, who is absolutely nice to nervous german fans, Mark, and finally the man the other girls were waiting for, too: Daniel Boys. This short moment made me love this friendly guy even more, even though I can't read what he wrote on my programme (orange pen on black Q wasn't the best idea).
I really hope I can afford another trip to London later this year, I already miss my favourite town.
