Jennifer always seems really quite shy and quiet at the SD. It's such a big change between her and Christmas Eve bless her. She does it very well!

oh, embarrassing story from last Saturday... Chiara said something and it came out in quite a thick accent, and Simon made fun of her and repeated it in mock-Godfather Corleone type accent  it was a bit insensitive maybe but I laughed |

My friend completely embarassed himself when we went. He loves Avenue Q but has a hard time remembering cast names. So... We were waiting at the SD together and met Clare Foster - all went well. Then my phone rings so I left him for a second and then Jon Robyns came out (typical :  . I didn't want to hang up as it'd be rude so stayed out of the way - anyway I finish the call quickly and go back over. Jon was in a rush so I fleetingly said hi and that I thought he was great and let him go. Convo with me and my friend then: Him: OMG you'll never believe what I did! *face palm*Me: What?Him: I called him Simon! Me: Oh dear...Fortunately I don't think Jon minded (well I hope he didn't!) but my friend was mortified! I still tease him about it now! This was me - Oh the shame! I'm not sure I'd be able to look at Jon again! I was like " Me: Simon Lipkin?Jon: Oh he went out just before me, I think you missed himMe: Oh sorry, thats right, Simon plays...Jon: Yeah thats right. I play PrincetonMe: Well will you sign this for me please? Arggh, what's your name, I now I know it...Jon: Well, perhaps after i've signed this you might remember...He looked rather annoyed to be honest  |

I've just enjoyed reading this thread. As I'm failry new on this forum I'm still finding threads I haven't read before. I haven't really had a really embarrassing SD moment - only been to stage door a couple of times before show (and once whilst matinee was still playing but during interval). It was funny when Jon asked "is that a dog" as my camera barks when it takes a photo. Also, I had to ask Jon to take the photo as my words were "your arms are longer than mine". What time on a weekday do the cast roughly leave after the evening show please as I'm going this week and would love to say hi to them and ask them to sign my poster?Slightly off topic for a sec - A couple of weeks ago Simon said that they sent my pics which I drew them back to me signed - but I haven't received them due to the post strike so I assume they are lost in the post  |

I can't believe I just found these boards.
Anyway.
I may have an embarassing moment to top them all. The first time I saw the show back in June I went to the stage door after. I had something special for Jon to sign, a page from a magazine with a picture of him and Rod naked in bed. I mainly just wanted to see his face when he saw it! So there I was, waiting patiently, and out came Simon. Now you have to understand that this picture I had was very dark and looks scarily like a mix between Simon and Jon, and I wasn't really familiar with the cast and was very excited and easily confused. So, this happens:
Hi, I loved the show, thought you were amazing etc... would you please mind signing this?
I can't believe you're asking me to sign a picture of my friend naked in bed.
Then Simon writes "gay" and an arrow pointing to Jon... but signs it.
The thing is, I was still convinced it was actually Simon and not Jon in the picture! My friend was telling me I'd got the wrong person, and I was like, no, no I haven't. It wasn't until I saw the show again two days later that I realised! So I had a photocopy of this picture in my bag and we put it in the hat but unfortunately they didn't look at it on stage, and Jon was off anyway so it may just have been weird!
FYI, the picture is now framed and on my wall...

Yes I was at the SD before the show (as Simon signed my poster) and after the show, when Jon and Julie signed my poster :-) I was too exicted to notice anyone else there and the cast rushed off as it was cold. |
