Well, I was in London and it was raining, so where better to go than the Noel Coward theatre (after bumping in to Mary in Starbucks)...
And it was a great show. Yanle as Christmas Eve and Matt as Gary, I've seen them both before but it was interesting, I like Yanle's version of Christmas Eve and Matt is great.
The show was pretty much perfect, timing was impeccable, the only thing was front row centre was a guy who was obviously a Q-virgin, and he had a very odd laugh, and as well as laughing at everything everyone else laughed at, occasionally he'd just laugh for no particular reason, which completely threw Simon in IWICGBTC. So it went 'I wish I could just drop a class (odd laugh) ........ Or change my major'...
I bought some Haribo and chocolate coins for the hat. Jon took the coins but didn't want the Haribo. Ungratefulness!
So, stage door.. Gloria and Gabe were there, and Gabe has bleached his hair, he looks... odd. But it works. And it was nice to see Gloria again.
Everyone in the cast is so friendly although Mary seemed to be in a hurry an ran away - not that this mattered cos I saw her on the tube on the way home as well - and Yanle just sort of ignored me. Shame Delroy wasn't about cos he's always got time to chat and even if he's in a rush he makes time to, he's one of the nicest people I've met at a stage door anywhere. Sion and Mary are the same, such lovely people. The rest of the current cast are nice but seem to be a bit distant, in a hurry to get away.. I miss Clare.
Overall then, a great night... As is always the way with Q. I think I might have to take a break for a while though, I've spent the best part of a grand at that theatre this year...
