I'm putting together the equivalent of the Dummies Guide To... about Avenue Q for my friend. I'm planning to do a plot outline (without spoiling the ending), characters random facts and points to look out for. So far I have:
A Muppet’s Guide To Avenue Q
Welcome To Avenue Q! Here’s a guide to everything Avenue Q you could ever want. So where do we start, I’m sure Rod our resident musical buff puppet would tell us to start at the very beginning then promptly burst into Do Re Me! So lets take that crazy puppet’s advice!
In the beginning… Ok, I’ll cut a long story short here. Avenue Q is the brain child of writers Jeff Marx and Robert Lopez. The idea came to Robert one night in early August in 1999. After many phone calls and meetings with his composer buddy Jeff they put together over the next few years the show that is currently ruling Broadway and the West End.
Any advice on topics to cover will be greatly appreciated!

What do you guys think of a classic quotes section? You can all put in your favorite line(s) and I'll put together the best. Will check out Wiki and do the cast. Ta muchly! I'll post the whole thing when it's finished.
Do the cast? I should be carefull what i type! I'd like to do some of the London cast *cough* but that's a whole other novel!
Any websites you can recomend. Obviosly I've put the offical on recomened list. And will add Avenueqfans if that's cool with Kaz and Thom.

Here's my newly added work on the Muppet's guide that follows on from before. It should have more colour and photos but you know. Here ya go cuties:
The Story The London show’s website testimony: LIFE MAY SUCK ON AVENUE Q, but for a bright-eyed college graduate called Princeton, this is his new neighbourhood. A tiny bank balance and a variety of weird and wonderful friends and neighbours lead Princeton on a hilarious journey of self-discovery. Performed by an unholy comedic alliance of humans and puppets(!), AVENUE Q was the winner of the 2004 TONY AWARD® for BEST NEW MUSICAL, BEST BOOK OF A MUSICAL and BEST ORIGINAL SCORE!
So what happens now? The residence of Avenue Q are singing about how much their lives suck when Princeton, a college graduate, moves into their street. Cute and fluffy Kate Monster soon falls for him. Mean while Rod, Avenue Q’s musical theatre fanatic and closet “homowhatever”, is hiding his feelings for his flatmate Nicky. No matter how much Nicky sings to him! When their friends Brian and Christmas Eve get married things start to got downhill. Rod promptly kicks Nicky out. Princeton, being a typical man, breaks Kate’s heart and has a fling with Lucy The Slut, the Avenue’s jazz singer who claims she can make you feel special. How dose it end I hear you ask? Ah, I’m not giving that away! You’ll have to wait for the show!
Meet The Street! An introduction to your furry, and not so furry, friends!
Name: Kate Monster Occupation: Kindergarten teacher Personality: Warm, sincere, honest, caring and generally the best girl in the show! Did you know? The reason Kate is tan coloured fur is because she’s shy about being a Monster and dosen’t want to draw attenetion to herself. Quote: Sometimes I get fur in my eyes. Name: Princeton Occupation: Searching for his purpose Personality: Lost, confused and at times a bit of a ladies man. Did you know? Princeton is the character who’s the “everyman” that everyone sees a bit of themselves in. Quote: I started out in Avenue A but so far everything’s out of my price range. Name: Rod Occupation: Investment Banker Personality: Secretly flamboyant, crazy about musicals and adorkable (adorable + dork) Did you know? Rod was originally called Paul. Quote: (sigh) An afternoon alone with my favourite book, Best Musicals Ever! How can it get any better than this? Name: Nicky Occupation: Getting on Rod’s nerves and giving other happiness in his misfortune Personality: Happy go lucky, lazy and funny Did you know? Nicky was originally puppeteered on Broadway but Rick Lyon, aka Kermit! Quote: You’re not my mother Rod! I’ll come home when I want to! Name: Trekkie Monster Occupation: Internet pornography Personality: Horny… Did you know? Trekkie got his name when he was originally going to be obsessed with Star Trek rather than porn. Quote: Me need to get home… NOW!
Name: Brian Occupation: Wannabe comedian, in the mean time he hangs out on the Avenue where his fiancé, Christmas Eve, shouts at him Personality: Lazy, funny and slightly scared of Christmas Eve Did you know? Ok, I don’t know what to put here! Quote: There’s an octopus in a grocery store and in his cart is a can of soup, a vibrator and a red head with huge jugs. Name: Christmas Eve Occupation: Therapist Personality: Honest, feisty and a ritter bit clazy Did you know? She says Rs as Ls and vice versa Quote: The more you ruv some one…
Name: Gary Coleman Occupation: Was a child star, now a has been who fixes the toilets on Avenue Q Personality: Frustrated, taking happiness in the misfortunes of Nicky Did you know? There really is a Gary Coleman. I didn’t know this until recently! Quote: Try being a has been at 14!
Also look out for… Lucy The Slut - The name says it all! Mrs Thistletwat - Kate’s “crabby” boss The Bad Idea Bears - These two bears are out to cause mayhem. Did you know they’re actually Kate and Princeton’s inner demons?
Castink? What’s Castink? Oh Casting! Original London Cast
Jon Robyns: Princeton/Rod Julie Atherton: Kate Monster/Lucy The Slut Simon Lipkin: Nicky/Trekkie Monster/Bear Sion Lloyd: Brian Giles Terera: Gary Ann Harada: Christmas Eve Clare Foster: Mrs T/Bear Luke Evans: Ensemble Gloria Onitiri: Ensemble Jacqui Sanchez: Ensemble Matthew J Henry: Swing Gabriel Vick: Swing Yanle Zhong: Swing
All Change! There has already been a few changes to the cast. The role of Christmas Eve has also been played by Naoko Mori, aka Tosh from Torchwood! She wasn’t playing Christmas Eve, it was her understudy, when I saw Q but I hear she was great. Jennifer Tanarez is now playing the role of Christmas Eve. There’s also due to be a cast change in early June. However we’ll still have the talented Simon Lipkin, the lovely Jon Robyns, darling Julie Atherton and the hilarious Sion Llyod to name a few! Soon to join are Two Cities stars Chris Thatcher and Mary Doherty.
The internet is really, really great… FOR PORN!!! No, really it’s useful for other things much less gross!
avenueqthemusical.co.uk The official London website. All round great site! Check out the video in the Fun Stuff section and the celebs who’ve been on the Avenue.

I emailed it to my friend last night and she loves it. She said she can't wait for the aniversary and that we should print this off to show to the cast. I'll edit out the bit about Simon being the Avenue QT. I'm sure he's guessed already from the £20 that I've got the hots for him but I don't want him to see it in black and white while I'm stood next to him!

*ponders why people always assumes that casts don't use the internet, and visit sites like this, and read everything...*

I don't think before I open my mouth or type as everyone at college has discovered. They must have heard every insanely bad joke ever.
