An announcement at the top of the show told us that last night was Ave Q London's 800th show - lots of raptuous applause from the audience. Very good.
Only one understudy on last night and that was Naana on as Gary.
Really good show, the new cast have really grown into their roles since I last saw them in February.
Really enjoyed Rebecca as Kate (I saw Mary in February). She's obviously really different to Julie but I think her portrayal of Kate is fab. She's got a gorgeous voice too.
Obviously I'm going to be very very bias and say I love Daniel's Rod more than I love pizza. It's got even camper and the audience absolutely adored him. Mark is also fabulous as Nicky and Trekkie - love his facial expressions.
Yanle and Christopher's chemistry as Christmas Eve and Brian has got better since I last saw the show too. And I love her Christmas Eve, she's hillarious.
It was really strange seeing a female Gary, but Naana was fantastic. What a voice! Her comic timing wasn't spot on, but I suppose that will come the more she plays the role. She did do a great job though and was very well received.
No funny bits/bloopers that I can really remember. Which makes me sad...I like bloopers.
No stage door report either. Boo.
Good show though, theatre was a lot fuller than it was last time I was there which is good, and the cast got a great response which is also very good.
And nothing special happened for the 800th show. Boo.
