I've only seen the Broadway cast, but I'm seeing the British one soon. For anyone who hasn't seen it on Broadway the entire thing's on Google Video and really worth a look.

The British cast are waaaay better than the Broadway cast. Broadway concentrates more on puppeteering.
The only person I preferred on Broadway was Gary because it was played by a woman, which is just genius.

Well, yeah, but for a show with puppets, you would expect them to concentrate on the puppeteering!!!
I think, as there isn't exactly a HUGE puppeteering thing over here, like there is over in America with the muppets and Sesame Street and everything.. So, as the actors over here can't exactly do all the snazzy things that the American puppeteers do (as like.. most of the actors over there have been puppeteers previously.) you look more at the actors and what they're doing, until you realise: 'Oh! Wait! They've got something on their hands!!' While on the Broadway version, you're looking more at the puppets until you realise 'Oh! Wait! There's a person back there!!'
But really... the OLC was basically as close as you can get to a perfect cast. I might have got Johnny Tartaglia to alternate doing shows with Jon Robyns... but that's just me.. But.. you know... they've left now. and from what I've heard of the new cast, they're... certainly different to the OLC. But... you know, go in with an open mind, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Haha obviosuly puppets = puppeteering! What I meant was that the original cast were all puppeteers rather than singers/actors and they've kept with that, whereas in England they pick actors/singers and teach them puppeteering. The show has a different feel.
The stage is also about 2 metres higher in London... front row on Broadway is amazing!

I might have got Johnny Tartaglia to alternate doing shows with Jon Robyns See, that's the thing, if you look at Johnny Tartaglia, he could act the crap out of alot of people on Broadway right now. His performance as Rod was hilarious as well as totally heart breaking. He definately didn't concentrate exclusively on puppetry, he was incredibly expressive in his face and his body language. I'd be hard pushed to see anyone else as Rod. But then I bet I'll see it over here and completely fall for Daniel Boys and the rest of them ;D I suppose everyone brings something fresh to their role.
