Really? I remember that getting quite a big cheer, though I might have been hearing selectively... And I haven't heard it since.

i went a few weeks back and the audience didnt respond at all. I would of thought they could of come up with something better

And even though its old news, the test lyrics for the Broadway production didn't go over well so they too are using "George Bush was only for now".
The only time they'll use a different line is when the tour starts back up again and they play in Califorina, where they'll use "Prop 8 is only for now."
