Hey guys.
Well, in Obama in office now, if just curious if anyone's going to see the show anytime soon to see what changes they're going to make to "For Now."

I meant to ask Daniel Boys last week but I totally forgot. My friend's going on saturday, and if it hasn't already been changed (with Obama not actually starting til January) she's going to try and find out what it will change to.

Jacqui told me they won't be changing the line, because of the impact George Bush has had on the world, the joke still works.

Well, I don't know if it applies to London, but starting January 20th the Broadway and US Tour WILL be changing the lyrics.
They held a contest that ended on the 12th where they let the fans decide on what will replace the George Bush line.

Okay guys, here's the deal.
They have taken the top four lyrics in the contest/poll and are now rotating them to see how the audience reacts to each one. The lyric that gets the best response will become the new replacement.
The top four in the rotation ARE:
RECESSION! Is only for now!
PROP 8! Is only for now!
YOUR MOTHER-IN-LAW! Is only for now!
THIS SHOW! Is only for now!
So, which one of these do you guys hope becomes the new lyric? (Of course, considering the West End production is closing, they might as well use "This Show!" regardless of what ends up becoming the new lyric in the Broadway one).

I like RECESSION and THIS SHOW!
Prop 8? Don't get it. And Mother-in-law is a bit long....

Prop 8 only works in America(Its a ruiling in Cailforina that banned gay marriage that's currently being challenged|(; the joke wouldn't make sense in the UK. I hope it doesn't get picked, since it'll become outdated anyway.
I'd go with "This Show" since its timeless and won't become dated.

Well, plans have changed as they so often do, and it looks like I'll be going in a couple of weeks!
I will have to see what they say.
Edited to say, I have just read that the London show is not trying out the same lyrics as Broadway. Two which have been used are "the credit crunch" and "your bank" - I don't know whether there are any others.

Recession's pretty dull. And too long, along with your mother in law. Prop 8's the best, as it's relevant to Rod's plight and it fits.

I was there last wednesday, and they used "George Bush WAS only for now" which got no reaction whatsoever from the audience, who had been amazing all night.
