Me and my girlfriend are going to London on Friday or Saturday and hope to see a show other than Avenue Q for once!!!
Can anyone recommended shows that tend to have tickets available for purchase on the day at discounted prices etc?
Cheers ;D

I recomend Phantom. Not sure if they'll do sicounts though. I'd phoned up the box office the night before we went and got really good seats. One of the best shows ever! I'd go to see it again and again if it weren't £55 per seat tho.

I'd recommend Les Miserables. It's a classic and they do student day seats for £20 in the dress circle
If you don't feel like being thoroughly depressed then I'd recommend Spamalot (don't get me wrong, Les Mis is amazing but not exactly cheery). There's usually loads of tickets left and its an entertaining show (I bought the tickets about 2hrs before curtain up and was in the Royal circle with a decent seat for £20.)
Let us know what you go and see!

I'd love to go and see this, but was looking at booking tickets online and there appears to be non available for Friday Night, do they keep a certain number back for people booking over the telephone perhaps?

I think most theatres have to hold back a few seats anyway. They're called House Seats, they're for the directors and that jazz and incase the box office make a mistake with booking. A random little nugget I once got from a director when he realised he didn't have a seat for his own show.

I second Spamalot! On the same fun level as Avenue Q!!
Also Blood Brothers if you haven't seen it.

Ooo, yes, Blood Brothers is good! You should be able to get into that fairly easily. Take a tissue, I cried waterfalls!

Little Shop of Horrors! You should see it before it closes!
