You mean Julie Atherton? Aww, it's a shame you think that, because really, her Kate wasn't snobbish at all, it was just her attempting an American accent. (My favourite is Simon's Nicky voice which barely conceals his normal English accent... it's so funny!) "Attempting"? Now I don't know if I've just generally seen really bad performers but to me Julie has one of the best American accents I've heard on the West End. Except that one time in Apocalypse Wow when she sort of slipped and said "professah", but whatever. One little slip's allowed. And Simon... well I'm not an expert but he was praised in a review for the variety of American accents he can produce, and clearly that can't be a bad thing... |

It's not her voice at all! In fact, if I said it was her voice, then I'd be hating my voice that I get when I try to sound like Rod (sad, isn't it?lol).. It was mostly the comments she had Kate say on that video "The Day Out: Part 2" .. unless that wasn't her and was someone else! What got me was the whole : "You're great in bed" and she said "I know". Not that it wasn't funny, believe me, it was! It just sounded like something Lucy would say, not Kate. Kate would probably think "oh my god, that was great! we belong together! squee!" and all of that..
but i'm picky like that, i have this weird thing about how characters should be portrayed the way they were with an original cast. When I saw that the U.S. tour of Rent's Mark cohen had brown straight hair, I freaked!
Yeah, Simon's my favorite Nicky/Trekkie, which makes me feel bad, because I think Ricky Lyon's awesome too, and it's hard to choose since their Nicky/Trekkie's sound and act alike to me, and the only reason I like Simon more is.. well, his looks, which is horrible I know, but Rick Lyon kind of looks like a pedophile to me, though when you hear him he sounds like a nice guy! Besides, I love a guy with an accent! ;p Well, one that's not American..
