Looks like thay are casting for a West End production! That rocks!!! I love Rent Yeah, on Musicool, they apparently came in to look at the rehersals the contestants were doing to see if any of them looked the part for Rent characters!! Exciting! ;D

The new London version of RENT has been in the pipeline for the past year. They're casting at the moment...and by the sounds of it it's going to be a VERY different production...

They make me so mad when they try and update musicals that clearly don't need updating. The point of RENT is that it's just as relevant today as it was 10 years ago. I also don't see how they can take someone else's work and destroy it like that, I very much doubt that Jonothan Larson would have been happy about their decisions.

Here's an idea for them, if they want a musical set in London, without a transvestite. Why don't they just write a brand new one for themselves? Grrr... Why can't we just have the original RENT over here?

Oh Gwen Stewart is also back in RENT! I'm so jealous of everyone who is going to see it with some of the originals. Especially Anthony Rapp!!

I agree, Johnathon Larson would probably not have been happy :S It's so irritating! Lets complain! And then make our own production with the CORRECT characters and setting!!

Don't get me STARTED on how much I want to go see Adam and Anthony in RENT. Seriously. I know they're a bit old for it now, but it's fricken Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp.

Anthony and Adam will never be too old for their parts though, mainly because they practically are those characters. Especially Anthony, he's like a real life Mark Cohen, it's so sweet.

I know! In my RENT book there are loads of pictures of rehearsals taken by him, he just went around taking them without being asked to! Like a real Mark!

Shoot me, but I didn't really like rent. Saw it on Broadway in 05 and although it was good, and I enjoyed it, I don't think it deserved all the hype. I was expecting this life changing theatre experience and left thinking there were a few good songs, but not much else. But even then, the songs that did impress me were just ones I'd done at college and felt familiar with them.
I'll go see it though, depending on their casting of course. If they hire someone from Musicool though I shall have to boycott it! Out of principle.
